Testimonials

Joining West Seneca Rotary was one of the best decisions I have ever made.  Not knowing what to expect is always somewhat scary and I, like most people, was asking myself “what if no one likes me?”  “Will I be accepted and make friends?”  Well let me tell you, these Rotarians are now my closest friends.  I was accepted with open arms and asked to participate in everything done by the club.

I look forward to my Wednesday Rotary meeting like watching my favorite show.  The West Seneca Rotarians are a cast of characters who make you laugh, cry and inspire you to be the person you know you should be.  I leave the meeting each week ready to make a difference in the world.  I couldn’t be more proud to be a member!

As a member of West Seneca Rotary for four years, I have become more aware of the positive value in contributing to the local community.  Also I have met men and women who are committed to achieving success and making a positive difference.

I joined West Seneca Rotary in May 1979 and because of this I have made many lifetime friends and together we have been able to help in many community projects.  The motto of Rotary “Service Above Self” has been a great way to live my life.

I joined West Seneca Rotary in December, 2004 because I knew it would be good networking for my company and because I feel called to give back.  What I found are wonderfully welcoming and generous members.  The Wednesday morning meetings are filled with laughter and camaraderie.  I am so very proud to belong to an organization that while having such an enjoyable time together, we are able to provide humanitarian service both locally and around the world.

In late 1995, a friend invited me to join him at a lunch meeting of West Seneca Rotary. A free lunch?  You bet!  An hour later I was hooked.  This group of strangers obviously enjoyed each other’s presence, had a healthy irreverence toward each other (which I love) and were doing things to benefit the community as well. That group of strangers has become fifty of my closest friends, people whom I would trust with my life.  Rotarians do great work in their communities and the world without fanfare and with no compensation other than a warm feeling in their hearts.

Rotary:  It’s where making a difference becomes a lot of fun.

I joined West Seneca Rotary in 2003.  I wish it was much sooner.  In joining West Seneca Rotary, I met an extraordinary group of caring individuals and learned how much good Rotary does in the WNY community and in all parts of the world.  Acting together, we make a real difference and no professional fundraisers take a big chunk of the money!  100% of the money the club raises goes directly to groups of our choice who can make a direct difference.  Lasting friendships and business contacts are a by-product.  The  camaraderie with quality individuals is priceless!  Come see for yourself!  You’ll be like me and leave every meeting feeling energized by the interaction with your fellow West Seneca Rotarians.

I found that the extraordinary people of the West Seneca Rotary are everyday people like you, who want to help someone, some where, have a better life.  We also have fun, joke around and enjoy life.  We brag about our kids and grandchildren and accomplishments in our families.  We end up praying for each other when prayers are needed, we provide shoulders to lean on for anyone, and we do this all because we can make a difference to someone, somewhere, sometime.

I was asked to join West Seneca Rotary at a time when I was very busy operating my own business and felt I could not devote time to Rotary.  I did however attend a few meetings, as a guest, and felt the camaraderie of members wanting to give back to their community.  I joined years ago and have enjoyed the friendship and support received, plus meetings that are fun, entertaining and informative.  Please join a great worldwide organization and make a difference.

Early in my career, I was an officer in Lions in Chicago, later joined Kiwanis while living in San Juan, Puerto Rico and became president.  Moving on, I was invited to join Rotary in Lockport, later Niagara Falls, then finally home in West Seneca for the last 21 years.  Rotary has been educational, business building, friendship making and it is a great opportunity to give back to the immediate community and the international world.  I recommend looking at West Seneca Rotary at a Wednesday breakfast meeting.

I joined West Seneca Rotary, thinking I would improve my business.  Little did I know but my business was secondary.  The school budget was defeated that year and there would be no high school basketball tournament.  I encouraged the Rotary club to sponsor the tournament and the result was television coverage showing our club Rotary banner in the background, giving Rotary more visibility in the community.
